SCARS
Saved with scars that Jesus can heal
It's been over 2 years since "Our World came crashing down" and I felt I should share what God has done for me and my wife...
If you are familiar, you would know that my curiosity nearly killed the cat or in our situation, our marriage. Something I thought could not be saved or repaired has been redeemed by Jesus Christ, not of anything that I/we have done, but He Himself, a MIRACLE!
Okay, why the reference to scars?
It's simple really, when you have cancer cut out, the Doctor will wound the body in order to remove cancer and then afterwards stitch you back up again to heal. The healing process will cause scar tissue which leaves the area stronger than before. That is what happened to me and my wife, we are stronger together than ever before, praise Jesus.
I have written about it before, but I could simply not come to terms with why bad things happen in this world and apart from sin (which has consequences), I re-read a verse in the Bible which said:
1 Peter 4:12 AMP
"Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you
[that is, to test the quality of your faith], as though something strange were happening to you."
At the start of the whole ordeal, I believed that I would be able to salvage our relationship
and no matter how hard I tried, nothing seemed to work, but when I gave everything to Jesus,
things started to change. Don't get me wrong, I still had to put the work in, but I had to trust Him
for full restoration.
I can also share with you that in the last 2 years, I have lost a job (due to redundancy/severance),
was asked back to the place I used to work, and was offered a position in a different state, which meant
that we had to move as a family and my wife had to resign from her job and find another,
which she did...God's grace and favour surely are over us! We surely did not think about it that way
for the most part, but here we are, building a new life together!
"Doubting Thomas"
Bet you, you did not know the reference came from the Bible...
So Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected 3 days later, He appeared to some of His disciples
but some did not believe it...that is Thomas of course:
'So the other disciples kept telling him,
“We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the marks of the nails, and put my finger into the nail prints, and put my hand into His side, I will never believe.” '
Sounds like most of us doesn't it, unless we see, we 'choose' not to believe, but Jesus said:
'Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and put out your hand
and place it in My side. Do not be unbelieving, but [stop doubting and] believe.” Jesus said to him,
“Because you have seen Me, do you now believe? Blessed [happy, spiritually secure,
and favored by God] are they who did not see [Me] and yet believed [in Me].” '
You see, the SCARS that Jesus has is the very thing needed for His unbelieving disciples to
have believed. Similar story to all our scars, it tells a story and when used for His Kingdom,
will be very powerful and can change the trajectory of someone's life!
Prayer
Thank you dear Lord that you are mighty to save and that you can redeem any situation, regardless
of how impossible it may seem in the moment. Thank You that You heal and restore when
we put all of our trust and hope in You. Thank You for Your never-ending mercy and grace and
that You shower us with gifts when we deserve none. I confess Lord God that I am lost and that I have
sinned against you and pray now for forgiveness and that you will come into my life to redeem me
and any unfavourable situation I have created. Help me find my true self, the person You say I am, and
also reveal to me my God-given plan and purpose. I pray this in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
